Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA). As a result of RCC's advocacy efforts, the Alberta Minister of Environment appointed RCC for a one-year term as the industry/member organization-at-large on the Alberta Recycling Management Authority's Board of Directors. RCC, through its representative, London Drugs, has been a positive addition to the ARMA Board.
Return-to-Retail Collection. RCC reached out to the Alberta Ministry of Environment regarding return-to-retail collection as part of the government's current review of their Beverage Container Recycling Program. RCC's formal submission to the Ministry highlighted the need to ensure retail interests were addressed. RCC received a prompt response from the
Minister understanding our position on collection.
Unclaimed Personal Property and Vested Property Act. RCC was successful in having ‘retail credit' exempt from this Act, arguing the legislation should be similar to that in other provinces and allow gift-card credits to be dealt with in gift card-specific legislation.
