Manitoba
Lower Business Taxes. RCC was successful in lobbying for lower business taxes in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the result of which is that Manitoba will soon have the lowest small-business tax level in Canada.

Security Guard Legislation. RCC worked with the province's Registrar to ensure that Manitoba's new security guard legislation and regulations reflected the feedback from Manitoba retailers and was harmonized with Ontario's legislation as much as possible. RCC was successful in having Manitoba's legislation and regulations recognize portability of training and exempt loss prevention officers from the uniform requirements.

Retail Safety Guide. In 2007, RCC and the Manitoba Workers Compensation Board partnered to develop and distribute a Safety and Health Guide for New Retail Workers, similar to those in Ontario and B.C. Gift Card Regulations. RCC was successful in working with the Manitoba government to ensure its new gift card regulations were feasible for Manitoba retailers and harmonized with Ontario's new rules. Manitoba's Consumer Protection Amendment Act (Prepaid Purchase Cards) and supporting regulations took effect November 1, 2007.

Winnipeg Spray Paint Bylaw. RCC was successful in getting some positive changes to the proposed bylaw, such as allowing for the legitimate purchase of spray paint by minors if accompanied by a parent.
