As Senior Vice President, National Affairs, Derek works closely with RCC's Government Relations team and is responsible for the co-ordination of GR activities across Canada. Derek joined RCC in July 2005.

From 2000 to 2005, Derek held senior positions in the Ontario government as Executive Assistant to former Ontario Education Minister Sean Conway (MPP Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke) and most recently worked as Chief of Staff to Ontario Consumer and Business Services Minister, and former Ottawa mayor, Jim Watson (MPP Ottawa West-Nepean).

From 1998 to 2000, Derek worked as a personal and small business banking account manager with TD Canada Trust in Kitchener, Ontario.

Derek holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an Option in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
