Submission to Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA)'s Proposed Changes to the Remittance Certificate Process

Background

The new remittance procedure proposes that registered suppliers will be segmented into two groups: "Level 1" suppliers include all first sellers and any downstream seller who has an average monthly environmental fee remittance over a preset amount; and "Level 2" suppliers are all downstream suppliers with average monthly environmental fee remittances less than a "Level 1" supplier. ARMA is proposing to eliminate the use of the remittance certificate by July 1, 2006.
