RCC Invites Members to Take Part in a Government Relations Briefing Call – January 18

December 19, 2012

Issue:

In order to keep our members informed RCC will be holding its second government relations teleconference for all interested members in order to provide more detailed information on a number of key policy/legislative issues.

Background:

RCC is currently managing more than 60 issues on behalf of our members (see “Public Affairs Flag Report”**).  Many of these issues continue to evolve and RCC is anticipating that this year will continue to be quite busy from a government relations stand point.

In order to ensure that our members are kept informed on issues that affect their businesses, RCC is proposing to host regular teleconferences with the  next being held on January 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.  These teleconferences will provide members with updates on key policy and legislative activities and will allow members to interact directly with the RCC GR team.

Current Status:

The agenda for the January 18 teleconference is as follows:

  1. Elimination of the Penny
  2. Tariff Elimination Project
  3. OQLF – French Language Signage Requirements
  4. Payments
  5. Member Q&A (Open Forum)

Next Steps:

Please RSVP by email to nmetwaly@retailcouncil.org.

Call-in details and a revised agenda will be sent out to members prior to the teleconference.

Should there be additional agenda items that members would like to see added to the teleconference please feel free to contact Karen Proud, VP Federal Government Relations: kproud@retailcouncil.org.
