Retail Council of Canada and RAC Canada Form Strategic Alliance

Toronto, June 4, 2007 – Retail Council of Canada (RCC) and Retail Advertising and Marketing Club of Canada (RAC Canada) today announced the formation of a strategic alliance that will bring improved value and resources to each organization and its members.

"By combining the retail marketing expertise of RAC Canada with the national industry know-how of Retail Council of Canada, we are offering Canadian retailers and retail marketers an enhanced value proposition that will include increasing the number of compelling events, more professional development opportunities and an expanded network," says Diane J. Brisebois, President and CEO, Retail Council of Canada. "We look forward to working with RAC Canada to achieve these goals."

"By engaging in cross promotion and collaboration, this alliance will take both organizations to the next level through the combination of RCC's valuable management and marketing capabilities and RAC Canada's programs, including the Flyer Symposium and more than six retail marketing events each year."

RCC will work directly with RAC Canada's Board of Directors and will manage day-to-day operations for RAC Canada. Under the agreement, RAC Canada will maintain its independence, including its own Board of Directors and own brand, while tapping into RCC's scope as a national retail association. Each organization will maintain its own individual membership base.
