  On April 2, 2008, Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association (CCSPA) and its member companies launched the Consumer Ingredient Communication Initiative. The intent of the initiative is to help Canadians make better informed choices about the products they purchase.

  Feds Seek Retailers' Input
  Retailers could be forgiven for believing at times that their business exists to fill out government forms rather than serve customers. In November 2006, the Federal Government promised to reduce the paperwork burden on businesses by 20 per cent.
• Member Notice: RCC and the NAFTA Security, Prosperity and Partnership Intellectual Property Meeting
  RCC Pushes Government for Stronger Anti-Counterfeiting Laws
  At a meeting with the Governments of Canada, Mexico and the United States on March 18-19 in Vancouver, RCC joined the chorus of associations and businesses calling for stronger efforts to curtail the growing trend of counterfeiting. The integrity of the supply chain is essential to maintaining consumer confidence. RCC delivered a strong call for governments to act quickly to enact legislation and implement strong deterrents to decrease and eliminate the growing problem of counterfeit goods.

>	La Senza's Laurence Lewin Named 2008 Distinguished Retailer of the Year by Retail Council of Canada Toronto, May 15, 2008 – Retail Council of Canada (RCC) is pleased to present Laurence Lewin, President and Chief Operating Officer of La Senza, with the coveted 2008 Distinguished Canadian Retailer of the Year award to recognize his role as a leader in the retail industry. Nominations were received from across Canada and the final selection was determined by a distinguished panel of current and former retail executives.
>	Golf Town's Stephen Bebis Honoured as Canadian Retail Hall of Fame Inductee by Canadian Retail Industry Toronto, May 15, 2008 – Retail Council of Canada (RCC) announced today that Stephen Bebis, President and CEO of Golf Town, will be honoured as the 2008 inductee into the Canadian Retail Education Hall of Fame. Mr. Bebis was selected by a distinguished panel of current and former retail executives, as well as representatives from the financial, academic and consulting communities.
