This section of the report focuses on recent trends. Where appropriate, the analysis highlights recent trends using monthly or quarterly surveys to obtain the most recent perspective. In Canada, retail has clearly been on a growth path for the last several years. The rapid expansion has been driven by strong growth in urban development and household formation as well as a continued expansion of consumer demand.
