Reminder to Members in British Columbia - PST Registration Open in Advance of April 1st ImplementationPrint
British Columbia Finance officials have indicated that businesses should be registered to collect the Provincial Sales Tax in advance of the PST being re-instituted in B.C. on April 1, 2013. They have asked RCC to pass the following information to our members in B.C.
Retailers with stores in B.C. have three options for registration:
- Online – click here to register. Online registration should take about 10 to 20 minutes to complete according to officials.
- In person - at Service B.C. Centres (see locations) or at B.C. Finance’s office at 1802 Douglas Street in Victoria.
- By mail or fax - the Application for Registration for Provincial Sales Tax (FIN 418) can be found here (go to Forms and Publications).
If you have any questions regarding registering to collect B.C.’s Provincial Sales Tax, please contact BC Finance at 1 877 388-4440.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this notice, please contact: Mark Startup at RCC’s Vancouver office: [email protected] or (604) 730-5252.
If you do not have stores in British Columbia, we have sent you this notice for two reasons. The tax changes may affect other business lines -- such as online sales -- if you ship to British Columbia. And it will be useful information if you are dealing with suppliers in the province.
