Alberta’s relaxation of retail capacity restrictions delayed

March 2, 2021

The Alberta government has announced that they will be delaying further relaxations outlined in Step 2 of the province’s Path Forward plan, due to a small rise in in testing positivity rate, and number of active cases, including variant cases.Retail capacity was expected to be increased across the province today, however the Cabinet COVID Committee has elected to delay this relaxation out of an abundance of caution. Therefore, for now Alberta retail stores must continue to maintain their customer capacity at 15% of fire code occupancy (not including staff), or a minimum of 5 customers.
