Another recall on hand sanitizers
August 6, 2020Health Canada has issued an another recall on hand sanitizers due to denaturants which have not been approved for use in sanitizers in Canada or for not using pre-approved ethanol. The first recall was issued in June and included products not using the approved ethanol.
For the current recall, Health Canada is updating a list of impacted products and is advising Canadians to refer to this list for the most up-to-date information as the recall is expected to expand further.
This recall is not linked to the CDC’s warning of ingesting methanol based hand sanitizer which was also recently published.
RCC will continue monitoring the situation and will keep members informed if there are any major developments.
