BC accessibility legislation introduced
May 4, 2021
BC introduced the Accessible British Columbia Act to establish accessibility standards aimed at identifying, removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and inclusion.
The legislation will impact a range of areas including employment, service delivery and the built environment. BC is the most populous province to not have comprehensive accessibility legislation in place. The legislation will work alongside the federal Accessible Canada Act.
RCC will keep members apprised of the bill’s progress.
