BC Accessibility Regulations Update
February 11, 2025RCC and members met with the BC Accessibility Directorate on February 5, 2025. The government is awaiting the release of a “What We Heard” report from last year’s consultations, which will shape new regulations impacting retailers in two key areas: accessibility in employment and service delivery. Regulation development is expected to begin in summer 2025, with publication targeted for summer 2026. While Implementation timelines will likely follow a phased approach, similar to Ontario and Manitoba, the draft regulations themselves will differ significantly.
