Canada Post’s labour negotiations are advancing on multiple fronts. Late last week, a new collective agreement was reached with its second-largest union, the Canadian Postmasters and Assistants Association (CPAA).
Negotiations continue with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), its largest union. Two weeks ago, the Minister of Jobs and Families invoked her authority under section 108.1 of the Canada Labour Code to mandate a membership vote on Canada Post’s latest offer.
RCC is supporting the government’s efforts to ramp up pressure on both parties to secure a negotiated settlement. We remain in regular contact with government officials to help ensure Canada’s postal system remains functional for retailers throughout this period.
