Canada Post Strike Continues

Canada Post workers went on strike at midnight last Friday, halting mail and parcel delivery across Canada. Over the weekend, the federal government appointed senior mediators to help resolve the dispute. While the union agreed to resume talks on Monday, November 18, 2024 the parties remain far apart. The Labour Minister has confirmed that forcing workers back to their jobs is not being considered at this time.

RCC has been very active in the media to highlight the damage this labour conflict has on retailers during their busiest time of year. We are working with other business association partners to pressure the Federal government to intervene, as they did with the rail and recent port labour disruptions.
