Nova Scotia businesses allowed to generate more electricity from renewable sources through new commercial net metering program

November 8, 2022

Recently passed electricity regulations will help businesses pay less for power by generating their own electricity through renewable energy installations like solar panels. There will be a limit to the amount of electricity that can be generated (eg: 200 kilowatts for most retailers). The regulations have tasked Nova Scotia Power with administering the program while preventing Nova Scotia Power from imposing additional system access charges for program participants. For more details, see press release and regulations.
