Natural health product regulations finalized by Health Canada

July 12, 2022

Health Canada published the final regulations to amend the Natural Health Products Regulations on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, which update labelling requirements for products such as toothpaste and hand sanitizer. The regulations incorporate many of RCC’s recommendations including allowing the use of modernized contact information, more exemptions for small packaging, flexibility on timing for label redesign, and enforcement at the manufacturing, not retail, level. The regulations will come into force in July 2025 for new products, and July 2028 for products already on the market.
