Special emergency measures in Quebec for the Outaouais and Rimouski to end Monday

May 12, 2021

At a press conference on May 11, the government announced the end of the special emergency measures for Gatineau, the MRC Les-Collines-de-L’Outaouais and Pontiac and for the MRC de Rimouski-Neigette. These regions will now move to the red zone as of Monday May 17, 2021 at 12:01 am.

For retailers, this means:

  • Restaurant dining rooms must remain closed; deliveries and pickups are allowed.
  • Curfew at 9:30 p.m. (stores to be closed at 9:00 p.m. at the latest).
  • Non-essential businesses will be able to open.

However, the measures remain in place in the MRC of Témiscouata, Kamouraska, Rivière-du-Loup et Les Basques as well as Beauce-Etchemin and MRC du Granit.

The measures are:

  • Curfew from 8 p.m. (stores to be closed at 7:30 p.m. at the latest).
  • Closure of non-essential businesses.
  • Essential businesses can only sell essential products.
