Port of Vancouver Strike Begins, Disrupts Grain Operations

September 24, 2024

Attention retailers, importers, and supply chain managers: Significant disruptions are expected at the Port of Vancouver as bulk grain operations grind to a halt.

Vancouver Port Disruptions: Starting at 7:00 AM PST on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, six major terminals at the Port of Vancouver—including Alliance Grain Terminal, Cargill Terminal, Cascadia, G3 Terminal, Pacific Elevators, and Richardson International—will be hit by strike action following the Grain Workers Union’s 72-hour notice to the Vancouver Terminal Elevator Association. Although this strike primarily impacts bulk grain, other grain terminals like Fraser Grain Terminal remain unaffected for now.  RCC is actively engaged in efforts to resolve this strike and prevent future disruptions. RCC will provide updates as available or visit the Port of Vancouver’s official page for the latest developments.
