RCC supports objectives of Canada’s Fertilizer Emissions Consultations while minimizing additional strain

September 7, 2022

Earlier this week, RCC commented on the Government of Canada’s discussion paper on “Reducing emissions arising from the application of fertilizer in Canada’s agriculture sector.”

RCC indicated support for the government’s objectives, and also highlighted that Canada’s food supply chain is facing major inflationary pressures and unprecedented impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by adverse weather events and political instability in Europe, and that it is therefore critical that the government proceed in a way that minimizes additional cost and strain.
