Consultation period opens on proposed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulation

November 9, 2021

The Yukon government has informed RCC that their Department of Environment is beginning stakeholder consultation to develop a proposed EPR regulation.

Yukon has committed to implementing EPR by 2025, with priority categories identified as printed-paper and packaging (excluding beverage containers), household hazardous waste (including mercury-containing products), and automotive wastes (including used oils and antifreeze).

RCC will work with members to prepare a submission to Yukon on the proposed regulation.
