HST Moves to 14% on April 1, 2025

A reminder to RCC members that Nova Scotia’s portion of the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) was lowered by one percent today, April 1, 2025.  This lowered the province’s HST to fourteen percent (9% provincial portion and 5% federal portion).  This tax cut follows through on an election promise from the 2024 campaign.  The Nova Scotia government has provided transitional information to help businesses adhere to the change.  Read the press release.
