Increased Flexibility for Retailers: Bill 85 Finalized
April 1, 2025The detailed study of Bill 85, aimed at reducing regulatory burdens, was completed on March 27th. The final version of the bill now includes several key recommendations from RCC. Notably, this legislation grants retailers greater flexibility by eliminating the limit of four employees in grocery stores and pharmacies outside of regular business hours, and by paving the way for pilot projects to ease rules around store opening hours. RCC welcomes this progress and is proud to have played an active role in shaping this positive outcome for Quebec’s retail sector. The bill is expected to be adopted and receive royal assent shortly.
