Alberta’s isolation measures receive mixed reviews
August 4, 2021The Alberta government announced last week that it intends to bring COVID-19 measures in line with other respiratory viruses such as the common cold. Effective July 29, 2021, quarantine requirements for close contacts of COVID-19 positive cases shifted from mandatory to recommended. However, Albertans have expressed mixed reviews for the more controversial decision, removing isolation following a positive COVID-19 test result from required, to recommended. Albertans with symptoms will be encouraged to remain at home, however, will no longer be required to do so.
