Manitoba delivers pre-election budget
March 14, 2023With Manitobans preparing to go to the ballot box this October, the Manitoba Progressive Conservative government delivered its 2023 Budget that, if passed, would include significant investments in personal tax reductions, as well as investments in health care, education, and justice.
While there is little news for most businesses, if passed the budget would provide employees with a substantial increase in their basic personal exemption amount as of July 1, 2023, and retroactive to the start of the year, and January 1, 2024, a significant adjustment to tax brackets as part of an effort to return to mid-pack amongst the provinces. RCC is pleased to see the significant investment of more than $51 million as part of a violent crime strategy, as well as efforts to address underlying issues impacting retail disturbances.
