‘Panic attacks’ as retail workers forced to deal with surge in shoplifting

Jim Cormier, Atlantic director of Retail Council of Canada, addressed the increasing issue of shoplifting in retail envoirnments. Cormier attributed the rise in theft to inflation and the growth of online resale markets, which have created opportunities for organized retail crime.
