Retail Council of Canada Honours Excellence and Innovation at STORE 2015 Conference

TORONTO, June 3, 2015 - Retail Council of Canada presented 15 prestigious industry awards at last night’s Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala, presented by KPMG, in Toronto including three Awards of Distinction and twelve Excellence in Retailing Awards. These awards recognize the Canadian retail industry's top achievers in a variety of categories and were presented as part of Retail Council of Canada’s STORE 2015 Conference. This year's submissions came from a wide range of retailers and showcased new and exciting innovations in areas ranging from Omni-Channel to Supply Chain Innovation to Marketing & Communications.

2015 Distinguished Canadian Retailer of the Year Award
Presented to Terry Leon, President & CEO, Leon’s Furniture Ltd. in recognition of his outstanding achievement and leadership in retail.

2015 Lifetime Achievement Award
Presented to Martha Billes on behalf of the Billes family, Founders of Canadian Tire Corporation, in recognition of the family’s ability to effectively establish and continually reinvent a Canadian retail icon.

Presented to Paul Dragan, owner of Reckless Bike Stores, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the community of Yaletown, BC.
