Minimum wage to jump to $15 an hour in Nova Scotia, PEI & Newfoundland and Labrador

September 26, 2023

Nova Scotia’s minimum wage will rise to $15.00 an hour on October 1, 2023, being one of five provinces to increase the total. The increase comes six months earlier than initially scheduled by Nova Scotia’s Minimum Wage Review Committee. This will be the province’s second minimum wage this year after hiking the rate from $13.60 to $14.50 an hour on April 1, 2023.

Meanwhile, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador will also increase their minimum wage a total of 50 cents on October 1, 2023, joining Nova Scotia’s $15 an hour rate.
