Molière Awards 2025 and Breakfast with the Minister of French Language
March 25, 2025Last week, RCC presented the 2025 Molière Awards to Penningtons, Kaseme, Latulippe, and the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) for their outstanding commitment to the French language in digital services, in-store experience, and customer communications. This annual award presentation is made possible thanks to Léger and its study on the use of the French language in the retail trade, conducted among 16,000 Quebec respondents. The retailers were honoured during a breakfast event with the Minister of French Language, Jean-François Roberge, which included a discussion with RCC members. While the dialogue was positive, uncertainties remain regarding the application of new obligations set for June 1, 2025. However, the Office québécoise de la langue française (OQLF) has expressed willingness to formally support businesses that are demonstrating proactive efforts but may not achieve full compliance by the deadline. RCC will be following up closely with OQLF and the minister’s cabinet.
