New Food Safety Regulations Proposed—Impact on Retail & Restaurants

March 11, 2025

Saskatchewan is proposing updates to The Food Safety Regulations, with key changes impacting restaurants, grocery, and convenience stores. RCC secured an exemption for quick-service restaurants on holding temperatures, aligning with other regions. However, a proposed rule would require all food prep workers to complete an approved food safety course. RCC will submit feedback before the April 2, 2025 deadline and welcomes member input on the proposed changes.
