Newfoundland and Labrador: Minimum wage transitional support for small businesses

October 4, 2022

As the government implemented its first of three minimum wage increases on October 1, 2022, that will ultimately bring the province’s base wage to $15.00 per hour, it has implemented the Transitional Support Program for Small Employers.

This program will provide small businesses with funding of $0.50 per hour for all hours worked at the minimum wage rate from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023. Eligible employers can receive up to a maximum of $20,800 but must apply before December 1, 2022. See press release and program details.
