A new CSA barbecue brush standard

The publication of CSA’s new Barbecue Brush Standard, Z630 has come a lot earlier than expected. CSA Z630:19, Barbecue grill brushes has just been released and is now available for purchase at CSA’s Store.

It will also be made available for anyone to view free of charge in the future here.

As other emerging product safety issues come up, we can use this as an example to show Health Canada that voluntary standards work and should be the first option considered, rather than a regulatory approach, especially given Health Canada’s ability to enforce a standard through the CCPSA’s General Prohibition Approach. So thank you to all those who helped with the drafting of this standard.
