Nova Scotia Boosts Paid Domestic Violence Leave to 5 Days
February 25, 2025Following extensive stakeholder consultations—including input from the Mass Casualty Commission—the Nova Scotia government is strengthening support for domestic violence victims. Effective April 1, 2025, employees will now have five paid days off (up from three) to access essential medical, legal, and social services. Note that the unpaid leave policy remains unchanged.
