Premier Eby’s New Cabinet: Diversity and Key Roles in Crime, Economy, and Environment

B.C.’s new cabinet, led by Premier David Eby, was sworn in Tuesday, with women holding 60% of roles. Garry Begg (RCMP, ret.) is Minister of Public Safety, and Terry Yung (former Vancouver police) is Minister of State for Community Safety. Niki Sharma remains Attorney-General, Brenda Bailey (tech background) becomes Finance Minister, and Jennifer Whiteside takes on Labour. Lana Popham returns to Agriculture, while Diana Gibson (Jobs and Economic Development) and Tamara Davidson (Environment) join the team. Jim Rutkowski will serve as Chief of Staff for six months. RCC will engage with all ministers.
