Province Mandates Web Accessibility: Compliance Required by May 1, 2025

Starting May 1, 2025, all Manitoba organizations must comply with the Accessible Information and Communication Standard Regulation to remove barriers in digital, print, and technology-based communications. Modelled after Ontario’s rules, Manitoba now requires websites and content to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards—a requirement that many retailers find challenging to achieve.
