Quebec’s New Draft Regulations on Obsolescence
August 27, 2024Attention Quebec retailers who sell hard goods: The Quebec government has released two draft regulations under the new Act to Protect Consumers Against Programmed Obsolescence, following the swift adoption of Bill 29 in October 2023. These drafts focus on penalties and fines. As the first of six regulations, this phase allows for public consultation and recommendations from the industry.
