Quebec act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime enacted

Almost a year after its presentation, Bill 59, “An act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime” with regard to prevention of and compensation for employment injuries, was adopted last Thursday, September 30, 2021. RCC worked closely with concerned employers to see through reform that respects the reality of retail while prioritizing the well-being of all. 

Employers and unions are both disappointed in how the plan has been managed and the delay in processing times, among other things. RCC will share details on the ins and outs of the new law when it is available.
