Quebec Bill 85: RCC Champions Extended Hours and Easier Permits

On February 11, Michel Rochette and Francis Mailly traveled to Quebec City to present RCC’s brief to the parliamentary committee reviewing Bill 85. The proposed bill would remove limits on grocery and pharmacy staffing, kick off pilot projects to let businesses set their own hours instead of being restricted by government rules, and simplify many permit processes. RCC’s submission also called for further regulatory relief on permits and labeling. Clause-by-clause study of the bill to take place this week.
