Quebec Suspends Two Key Immigration Programs Until 2025

November 5, 2024

Attention Retailers, HR Leaders, and Hiring Managers: The Quebec government has suspended the regular skilled worker program (more than 25,000 people settled in Quebec in 2023, out of a total of 53,000 immigrants admitted), and the graduate component of the Québec Experience Program (PEQ), (which is considered the fast-track for foreign students to become permanent residents of the province) until June 30, 2025. This could significantly impact the talent pool for our industry. Ongoing political tensions are driving more restrictive immigration policies. RCC is closely monitoring the situation and collaborating with economic associations to represent our industry’s concerns. For details, contact Apraham Niziblian, Director, Public Affairs and Government Relations (Quebec), at aniziblian@cccd-rcc.org.
