RCC appointed Member of Alberta Recycling
October 13, 2022On October 3, 2022, the Alberta government released its EPR regulations for single-use products, packaging and printed paper, and hazardous and special products, that will result in transitioning the full responsibility for the collection and processing of materials to industry funded programs.
Government has allowed time for obligated producers to develop the EPR systems, with proposed plans presented to ARMA by April 1, 2024, and in operation as of April 1, 2025. An information website has been established by the province.
