RCC provides comments on food uses of titanium dioxide
August 11, 2021RCC has provided comments in response (members only) to Health Canada’s “Call for Data” on food uses of titanium dioxide. Some members, including grocers, sell national brand and private label food products that could contain the ingredient, though RCC has requested that potential changes consider the limited use of the substance.
If safely usable alternative ingredients are identified in the future, RCC has also requested that industry be allowed a minimum of two years to make formula and label changes to products, and be grouped in accordance with the new Joint Policy on Labelling Coordination.
