Relaxation of measures in Quebec

Following a steady decline in the number of COVID-19 cases across Quebec and the acceleration of the vaccination campaign, the Quebec government has announced adjustments to the restrictions in place. The relevant changes are as follows:

• The curfew remains in place, but will begin tomorrow March 17 at:
  • 9:30 p.m. in the red and orange zone (shops closed at 9:00 p.m. at the latest) until 5:00 a.m.
  • Curfew lifted in yellow zone.
  • The government has posted a letter online to certify the validity of the trips required during the curfew.
• The regions of Nord-du-Québec, Côte-Nord, Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine go into the yellow zone as of March 26.
  • The restaurants will be open and will be able to serve customers in the dining room. The occupants of a maximum of two private residences can be together at the same table.
  • A customer register must be kept. Only clients with proof of residence in a region whose alert level is identical to that of the region of the establishment have access to it. With the exception of fast food, reservation is required.
  • Reopening of bars and microbreweries in the yellow zone under strict conditions (details to come).
  • Shows are permitted in restaurants during meals.
• The measures concerning the restrictions on the number of people admitted to shops remain the same throughout the territory (floor area accessible to customers in m² ÷ per 20 m² ). This does not include employees.
• The government has made a commitment that all Quebecers who so desire will be able to receive a first dose of the vaccine by June 24 at the latest.
