Right to repair for electronics and appliances
November 27, 2024The federal government is exploring right to repair measures that could potentially target a wide swathe of consumer electronics and household appliances sold by retailers across the country. RCC has emphasized the importance of harmonization and interoperability with international regulatory and trade frameworks and with overlapping provincial stewardship requirements. We support a consistent national approach and suggest that any new repair requirements be proportionate and not add to trade friction.
