Quebec special emergency measures in Estrie and flexibility in the Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Capitale-Nationale
May 4, 2021With COVID-19 cases on the rise in the Granit region, in Estrie, the government announced during its daily press briefing that special emergency measures will come into force in this region as of May 6, 2021 at 12:01 am.
Relevant measures for retailers are:
- Curfew from 8 pm (stores to be closed at 7:30 pm at the latest).
- Closure of non-essential businesses.
- Essential businesses allowed to sell essential products only.
Also, as of Monday May 10, 2021, the following regions will move to the red zone:
- Capitale-Nationale region
- Lévis
- Bellechasse
- Montmagny-L’Islet
- Papineau and Vallée-de-la-Gatineau MRCs, in the Outaouais region
Relevant measures for retailers are:
- Curfew from 9:30 pm (stores to be closed by 9 pm at the latest).
- Reopening of non-essential stores.
Finally, Abitibi-Témiscamingue will pass from the orange zone to the yellow zone as of May 10, 2021. Restaurants will be authorized to accommodate up to two private residences per table in their dining room. Bars will be authorized to reopen their doors and operate at 50% capacity.
