Sugar Sweetened Beverage Tax: Presentation this week

On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 1pm ET, RCC members who sell sugar-sweetened beverages are invited to a presentation from government officials as they demonstrate their marketing and information campaign for the upcoming sugar-sweetened beverage tax (SSBT) in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The SSBT will be implemented on September 1, 2022. Given that the SSBT will be the first of its kind in Canada, government officials noted that per RCC’s request, they are looking at a range of methods to communicate the SSBT message, including social media, online advertising, billboards, and a web page where retailers and others can download and print resources.
