Ontario’s plan for three paid sick days is not good enough, workers’ groups say

Business groups are worried they won’t get reimbursed for Ontario’s new sick pay program quickly enough, while workers rights advocates and medical experts slammed it as far too little, too late to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“In order for this plan to be successful, any paid sick day program must be fully and immediately accessible to the workers who need it, coupled with a rapid and seamless reimbursement process for employers,” said RCC spokesperson Michelle Wasylyshen in an emailed statement.
