RCC advocates for greater consultation and reasonable lead times on the proposed amendments to the Carriages and Stroller Regulations

July 6, 2021

RCC has submitted comments on behalf of its members to Health Canada’s Consumer and Hazardous Products Safety Directorate regarding the proposed changes to the Carriages and Stroller Regulations.

RCC advocated that a provision for consultation with industry before the adoption of updates through the incorporation by reference model be included in the regulations and for an implementation period of at least one year following the adoption of updates. This will help ensure retailers’ needs are considered for future updates, and that current stock can be sold through before changes are made.

The next steps are to follow up with officials to ensure our comments are incorporated into the proposed regulations.
