Protecting and promoting the mental health of employees at all levels requires more than overcoming stigma around talking about mental health – it’s about identifying and working together to manage the workplace factors that can affect psychological health and safety to ensure positive results. This session outlines the key elements that contribute to a psychologically healthy and safe work environment.

Liz Horvath, Manager, Workplace Mental Health, Mental Health Commission of Canada

Liz has been helping organizations achieve better results by keeping workers healthy, safe, and productive for over 25 years. Through her previous work, she has a deep understanding of workplace health and safety and human rights legislation and standards and experience with the legal system. Liz managed the development of the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, and currently leads the Workplace Mental Health program at the Mental Health Commission of Canada, where she helps organizations implement workplace mental health strategies that align with the Standard.
