CBCRA announces new launch date for container recycling program in Ontario
March 7, 2023Following several weeks of discussions with RCC and members, the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA) announced March 6, 2023, that the launch of its Recycle Everywhere program is moving from April 1, 2023 to June 1, 2023.
The added time allows CBCRA to connect with manufacturers, brand holders and our members, to design a more fulsome communication rollout for the new Container Recycling Fee. For more information, see the full communications release on the CBCRA website by clicking here.
“RCC members fully support CBCRA’s decision to move the program launch date to June 1, 2023,” Diane J. Brisebois, RCC’s President, and CEO, said in the release.
“The added time allows CBCRA to better connect with our members and the broader business community to align on and roll out communications to retail staff and consumers. This will help Ontarians better understand the importance of the Recycle Everywhere program and the corresponding Container Recycling Fee as participating beverage producers and manufacturers look to meet their recycling goals.”
