New Saskatchewan household packaging and paper regulations
April 5, 2023On March 31, 2023 the Government of Saskatchewan finalized amendments to The Household Packaging and Paper Stewardship Program Regulations, 2023. An online copy will be posted in the coming weeks through Saskatchewan’s Publications Centre. Key changes include transitioning the residential blue box system to full extended producer responsibility (EPR) whereby producers will take on full responsibility for funding and operating the recycling system.
RCC is in the process of reviewing the Regulations and has invited Government Officials to present at RCC’s next EPR/Stewardship Committee Meeting on April 17, 2023.
